What Is Sourcewell?

Formerly known as the National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA), Sourcewell is a self-sustaining government agency that serves as a national cooperative purchasing organization. The Minnesota state legislature first created the NJPA as a service cooperative. The name change occurred in 2018.

All education and government agencies, as well as nonpublic schools and nonprofit organizations, can register for free as a Sourcewell member through online registration.

How Sourcewell Works

Sourcewell gets competitive rates by combining the buying power of 50,000 government, education and nonprofit organizations across North America. Sourcewell holds hundreds of competitively solicited cooperative contracts ready for use by any public sector agency.

Sourcewell places cooperative contracts into 14 divisions. In addition to fleets, Sourcewell also offers cooperative purchasing services for construction equipment, administrative services, facilities, food services, agriculture, parks and recreation, and much more.

Experts with Sourcewell continually refine the process to ensure that the bid procedure meets or exceeds the needs of local governments. By becoming a Sourcewell member, public fleets gain access to the best products available from some of the top suppliers in the country.

Advantages of Sourcewell

By using Sourcewell, public fleet managers can find some of the best products and services available across the country without having to put together a competitive bid process of their own. This streamlined process saves time and reduces costs associated with contract development, bidding and awarding. Fleet managers also enjoy other benefits.

High-Quality Products and Services

Sourcewell contracts are awarded based on a rigorous competitive bidding process. This ensures that the contracts offer high-quality products and services that meet the specific needs of public fleets.

Sourcewell contracts are developed in compliance with federal and state procurement laws and regulations. This ensures that the procurement process is fair, transparent, and compliant with all applicable laws and regulations.

Expertise and Support

Fleet managers benefit from the collective knowledge of Sourcewell’s team of procurement experts who provide guidance and support throughout the process. This includes assistance with identifying procurement needs, contract management and contract compliance.

Sourcewell offers transparency in the procurement process, which includes access to procurement information, contract terms, and pricing. This level of transparency provides a clear understanding of the procurement process, making it easier for government organizations to comply with procurement regulations.

Reduced Risk

Sourcewell conducts a thorough evaluation of potential suppliers, which can help reduce the risk of working with unreliable or unqualified vendors. This can be especially important for public fleets that must comply with strict procurement regulations and standards.

Sourcewell can help government, school and nonprofit fleet managers quickly find the advanced telematics solutions that will streamline their operations and improve fleet efficiency and safety.
